I think for me when I got married the most important thing was finding an amazing photographer. The day will come and go but the photographs will be with you forever. So I think it is really important to take your time when picking your photographer.
Research is the key with this one. I think you really need to know what you want out of your photographer. Do you want traditional line up shots or do you want more of a natural look? It is great to see the photographer’s portfolios to give you an idea of what you can expect. Also some photographers have a distinct look, some like to have shots where the background is blurred out and some like their shots to be clean and crisp. It really is just up to you as its your own personal preference on the day.
My favourite photographer in Yorkshire is FKB Photography. Although I am bias as this lady is not only a lifelong friend she is also my business photographer.
Faye Kenny-Broom or (Kenny) to me has been a professional photographer for over 5 years now. Although this does seem a relatively short amount of time. I know from experience Faye has always had a camera stuck to her since about 1990. Throughout our years together Faye was the only one who took the pictures wherever we went. I can confirm some are very embarrassing and include a lot of shell suits, bad hair and overall poor taste in everything, but that was the 90’s.
Faye is a Yorkshire lass through and through and you can see this in her work. Faye’s work captures the most beautiful shots out and about in the Yorkshire Dales. Her style is very much about nature and being surrounded by the landscape in this beautiful county.
FKB Photography also specialises in wedding, family portraits and event and business photography. Her look is very natural and far from staged. If I could describe her style I would say she is very creative with the lens and has a very feminine touch in her photographs.
If you would like to see more of Faye’s work or even better book her for your wedding please take a look at her website www.fkbphotography.co.uk. Below are just a few on my favourite shots.
